A darling collection of three vintage butterfly quilt blocks, each pieced by hand in a different combination of colorful old fabrics.

Each block features a large butterfly with patterned wings, contrasting solid fabrics and the sweetest hand-stitched black antennae. The three butterflies are wonderfully individual—one with soft pink printed wings, one with a bold red, white and blue floral, and one with a tiny multicolored geometric print.

These blocks were never made into a finished quilt and have remained in their original unfinished state, preserving the handwork of the quiltmaker who created them.

The exact age and history of these blocks are unknown. They are vintage pieces and show the wonderful irregularities associated with handmade textiles.

Please expect signs of age and previous storage, including loose threads, raw edges, variations in stitching and size, fading, discoloration, small stains or other imperfections. Please review photographs carefully for condition.

These would be especially sweet framed together as textile art, incorporated into a quilt, transformed into pillows or used in another special sewing project.
